For the Audiovisual Technology module in 2021, I created a personal video project using Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Audition. This project was informed by the year's labs and lectures and involved creating a video that chronicles my life from day one until 2021, showcasing my technical skills and creative storytelling.
TOOLS & TECHNIQUES
Adobe Premiere: I utilized Adobe Premiere to edit the video, arranging photos and video clips in a coherent and engaging sequence. The editing process included cutting, trimming, and applying transitions to ensure a smooth flow of visuals.
Adobe Photoshop: Photoshop was used to enhance and manipulate the photos included in the video. I edited images to ensure they were visually appealing and consistent in style, adding effects and adjustments to improve their quality.
Adobe Audition: In Audition, I designed the audio track for the video, incorporating background music and sound effects. This involved synchronizing the audio with the visuals to create an immersive experience and enhance the emotional impact of the video.
Research
Along the process, I used the colour theory from lecture 3 to choose what colours I will use, and I did research about childhood age colours. I decide to use bright colours which align with energy - young kids, and they represent happiness, carefree, risk and playful, fun, like children.
What's more, I studied Black and White photos connected with the past years when they haven't photos with colours. As a result of my study, Black and white images are closely linked to history, and they reassure people what they are looking at belongs to the past. So I decided to get this and make my photos look old with Black and white and focus more on the rainbow background. As a result, I created a rainbow-colourful background pattern with my photos from day one until today to show this kind of age, and because images with a lot of squares are like blur and damage, they are old. Furthermore, I made black and white frames of my photos!

Project Concept
The video consists of several key segments:
Initial Slides: The first few slides introduce the concept, displaying photos of myself from birth to 2021. These images set the stage for a nostalgic journey through my life.
Memory Slides: The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th slides feature photos from 2001 to 2021, framed as if they are being viewed behind a wall. I wanted to evoke a sense of happy memories and a throwback moment, so I took a photo of myself looking at something behind a wall and edited it to appear realistic. This creative approach was aimed at making the viewer feel as though they are peering into my past along with me.
Timeline Slide: For the 5th slide, I created a visual timeline from 2001 to 2021, summarizing the journey and providing a clear conclusion to the video. This timeline effectively encapsulates the passage of time and my growth over the years.
Outcome and Impact
This video project allowed me to apply the technical skills learned throughout the year in a meaningful and personal way. The final product was well-received, demonstrating my proficiency in video editing, photo manipulation, and audio design. By creating a narrative that combines visual and audio elements effectively, I was able to evoke emotions and provide a compelling viewing experience. This project also highlighted my ability to creatively tell a story using multimedia tools, making it a significant addition to my portfolio.
