"Παθκιa - Παθκιa" project
"Παθκιά - Παθκιά" is a cultural initiative organized by the Municipality of Dromolaxia-Meneou, aiming to highlight and celebrate the heritage, traditions, and community life of the region through a series of engaging events. The project serves as a bridge between past and present, bringing people together through storytelling, art, and interactive experiences. The initiative focuses on preserving and promoting local culture, showcasing traditional crafts, music, and customs while encouraging community participation and appreciation. As the Branding & Graphic Designer, I was responsible for developing a cohesive visual identity for the project. My work included: Logo Design & Branding: Creating a strong, recognizable identity that reflects the cultural essence of the initiative.
Theme and Idea:
The logo is more geometric and structured, reminiscent of lines representing streets or neighborhoods. The use of clean, straight lines highlights the idea of connection between communities and villages, showcasing a more modern approach to the concept of wandering and exploration. The "Παθκιά Παθκιά" (footsteps) add a traditional touch within this otherwise strict framework.
Symbolism:
The clean, straight lines symbolize the roads that connect the villages, while the reflection of the second word, "Παθκιά" (Paths), represents repetition and connection, much like routes that lead back to the villages. This reinforces the sense of wandering, bringing the visitor closer to the roots and identity of the villages, while the organized design suggests their evolution into a modern world.
Message:
It emphasizes unity and organization, while inviting the audience to discover the connection between communities.
Design Approach
The visual identity was inspired by the idea of movement and connection, symbolizing the paths (παθκιά) that unite communities. The color palette was carefully selected to reflect the natural landscape of the region, while typography balanced tradition with modern aesthetics.
Conclusion
"Παθκιά - Παθκιά" was a meaningful project that allowed me to blend design with cultural storytelling. Through strategic branding and visual communication, I helped create an inviting and memorable experience for the community, celebrating the rich heritage of Dromolaxia-Meneou.
